As a member society of the Unitarian Universalist Association we feel obligated to protect the privacy of visitors to the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Lubbock website (http://uulubbock.org/) as well as that of our church members and friends.


We do not sell, rent, or give any personal information to other organizations. In order to protect the privacy of individuals, personal information such as name, address, and phone number or email will not be included on our web site without permission.


We believe that the use of photographs and descriptions of church activities are valuable tools in creating an attractive, accurate and relevant on-line representation of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Lubbock (UUCL) and its community involvement. Therefore, our website may occasionally include photographs of members and friends involved in those activities. If you see your name or your child's name or a photograph of yourself or your child that you prefer not to be included on the site, or if you would like to ensure that no photo of your child is used on the site, feel free to contact the webmaster - mail to:firstuu@nts-online.net. The following is an executive summary for use as a guideline by the Web administrator or administrative committee.


  • 1. Password protect all past newsletters that are on the server.

  • 2. Limit the information on the Web page to information that would be relevant to outsiders.

  • This would primarily include:


  • a. Church address, directions and email address.

  • b. Contact phone numbers (church office and president or someone designated by the president)

  • c. Time of services (early, late and special)

  • d. Calendar of services, church events and activities open to the public. This would include social action, adult programs and youth programs.

  • e. Description of service topic and background of speaker.

  • f. Information about the church: vision/mission/goals/core values/generic UUA videos/designation as a Welcoming Congregation

  • g. List of officers (optional) by permission.

  • h. Archives of past service topics and videos.

  • 3. The Web administrator should make every effort to see that inclusion of the following is restricted except as indicated:

  • a. Names of congregation members and guests - except by permission.

  • b. Personal information about anybody. Background information about speakers and performers that is considered in the "public domain" would not be restricted except by request.

  • c. Pictures and videos of members and guest (particularly children) should not include names or personal information about individuals shown without permission.
